N-400 Citizenship Project
Helping immigrants become naturalized U.S. Citizens is a chance to truly give a person many new opportunities. For example, U.S. citizenship enables immigrants to fully participate in civic society. KALA will hold its annual N-400 Citizenship Drive on April 12, 2008 from 2-6pm at Holy Angels Church, 7000 Old York Road in Philadelphia in order to assist Permanent Legal Residents to apply for U.S. Citizenship.
We are always looking for persons interested in volunteering for this event. Please contact any of the following KALA officers if you are interested in obtaining more information on how you can help: Kyong Ha Growney at khg@curtinheefner.com; Helen Han Mountain at Mountain@BlankRome.com; and Chris DeWitt at Suho@yahoo.com. Food and refreshments will be provided for the volunteers.

Mock Interview Workshop
The Korean American Lawyers Association of the Delaware Valley held a Mock Interview Workshop conducted by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS") on October 20, 2007, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Korean United Church, which is located at Old York Road and Cheltenham Avenue. Part of the N-400 citizen application process is an interview with a USCIS District Adjudications Officer. During the Mock Interview Workshop, USCIS District Adjudications Officers conducted mock interviews with the attendees in which they asked sample questions that may be asked during the interview process. They also proved critiques of the responses to the sample questions and were available to answer questions regarding the interview process.
